The SCSCB 2009 Raffle is underway, launched at our meeting last month in Antigua.  By purchasing a ticket you will have a chance to win one of 8 fabulous prizes:

• Six beautiful original bird paintings by artists from the very talented Caribbean Wildlife Art Working Group in Cuba (please see the attached PDF for images and details of the six paintings).

• Two pairs of reconditioned 8x30 SLC Swarowski Binoculars – Swarovski’s Slim Light Compact (SLC) 30 binoculars are among the world’s most popular high-end optics. They are waterproof, nitrogen purged to prevent fogging and offer a 408-foot field of view at 1,000 feet . These reconditioned binoculars are like new and retail for $1,221!

Raffle tickets are $5 each. The draw will take place in Bermuda on Saturday October 3, 2009 at a local birding event at which our past president Andrew Dobson will be conducting the draw.  You need not be present to win.

To purchase tickets, send an email to Andrew Dobson (andrewdobs@gmail.com) and let him know how many tickets you would like to purchase and Andrew will assign you ticket numbers by email. Payment can be made by credit card or by mailing a US check or money order to our Treasurer.  Winners will be notified by email and the winning numbers will be announced on our listserve BirdsCaribbean@yahoogroups.com.

To pay by credit card go to www.justgive.org and search for key word  "SCSCB" and follow directions (if you would like to add 3% or more, this will help offset the charge made to the society for this service).  Put the word “Raffle” in the description box. To pay by US check or international money order, please make check payable to SCSCB and mail to:

This Raffle is one way that the society raises important funds for bird conservation in the Caribbean region and a way that members and friends can help by purchasing tickets.
